Hi, I’m Nikki!

I am an artist located on Kent Island, Maryland. I received my BFA in Painting from LSU and an MFA in Painting and Print Media from IUP.
I am native to Baton Rouge, LA but Annapolis Maryland was home for half of my life. I spend most of my time trying to get out of cooking meals (but i do make killer southern comfort foods) hiking and attempting to recover from Nature Deficit Disorder with my two boys. I hate the cold. It makes me really grumpy, daydreaming about sunny days and the beach helps.

I have had 100 jobs and careers since my very first job at McDonalds. I was a vegetarian working at McDs, it was the only place I could find within walking distance that would hire a 15 year old. With my first paycheck I bought a pair of Vegan suede blue Adidas Sambas for $54 dollars and my own vegetarian groceries. I am still obsessed with shoes; but now only a sometimes vegetarian (I support the local humane farmers.) I was a strict Vegetarian for 18 years and would tell anyone who would listen about the horrible practices of factory farming. It’s a long story about how my Vegetarianism ended while traveling, short sTory- “wow, thats really Good.” one day I’ll tell you all about those trips and about my other 99 jobS. The fun and adventurous Artsy jobs, Copying master PaintIngs in a sketchy new orleans studio, and the more challenging ones, like that time I was a driving instructor.

Is that enough about me? I’ve been an artist My entire life but this is just the beginning of my career. Follow along and see where it goes.
